Ciara is nothing if not prolific. Since returning to the music scene in July with the fast and furious “Level Up,” CiCi has made up for lost time. “Freak Me” arrived a couple of weeks later, while the third taste of the comeback queen’s 7th LP drops on Friday (September 14). The R&B icon revealed the sexy cover art of “Dose” on Instagram and she serves a serious look with long, curly hair and an oversized belt buckle. I’m getting ’80s Whitney Houston vibes, so it will be interesting to see if that’s the direction the song takes.
After all, Ciara’s new music has been extremely eclectic. “Level Up” was a throwback to the hitmaker’s Y2K hey day, while “Freak Me” found her experimenting with afrobeats. The only thing they have in common is that they are both bangers and that trend is set to continue. “To all my Ladies out there… this is truly a time where we can do anything, be anything we want, & Love to the fullest while being loved in return,” she mused on signing. “I’m supercharged to make the World Dance again!” See the cover of “Dose” below.
